The Need:
The National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is Congressionally mandated to collect, analyze, and disseminate health statistics for the United States. As part of the CDC’s Clean Slate and Digital Communication Modernization projects, NCHS required a partner to strategize and implement this colossal undertaking.
Results:
McKing developed, maintained, expanded, and implemented the NCHS digital content strategy, ensuring NCHS website content is user-friendly, well-structured, and easily found. We created and edited content, translated complex content into accessible text, and managed content by working in the CDC’s Digital First Editor. Our user-focused visualization strategy married CDC branding and NCHS design, resulting in a unified user experience across this high-profile site.
