Mr. Jackson is a Vice President at McKing. He joined McKing in 2002 after a 35-year career as a Public Health Advisor and Senior Manager at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Mr. Jackson brings extensive planning, management, financial, and administrative knowledge and experience to the Atlanta Office. Mr. Jackson has led the McKing team through numerous contracts that have provided assistance to the CDC Office of the Director and most CDC Centers. His projects include the Public Health Apprenticeship Program; legal and operational assessment of Quarantine Station response plans; organizational assessment of the newly formed Coordinating Center for Infectious Diseases focusing on a review of scientific and grant programs; consolidation of the National Center for Environmental Health Office of the Director and Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry Office of the Administrator; and administrative reviews and process improvement projects for the Division of Viral and Rickettsial Diseases and the Division of Vector-Borne Infectious Diseases.

Mr. Jackson’s career at CDC began as a Public Health Advisor in 1964. He was the Assistant Director for Management for the Center for Professional Development and Training from 1983 to 1984, the Deputy Director of the National Center for Environmental Health from 1984 to 1992, and culminated his CDC career as the Associate Director for Management and Operations and Chief Financial Officer from 1992 to his retirement in 1999.

Prior to joining McKing, Mr. Jackson led many successful marketing efforts on behalf of 8(a) Federal Government contracting organizations. He served as Project Manager for a number of diverse contracts for the CDC and other federal agencies. These activities included assisting with the development of a system for allocating indirect costs among CDC programs; developing a 5-year HIV/AIDS prevention strategic plan; conducting an assessment of the regional office structure for the Administration on Aging; and reviewing and making recommendations to improve injury prevention and control in extramural research grant programs.
