ATLANTA – McKing Consulting Corporation won a prime contract on the National Information Prevention Network (NPIN) contracting vehicle, housed within the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) National Center for HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, STD, and TB Prevention (NCHHSTP). Through NPIN, McKing makes available to NCHHSTP divisions, branches and programs, a wide array of expertise in communication and education, and information technology to help it continue being the leading U.S. reference and referral service for evidence-based information on HIV/AIDS, viral hepatitis, sexually transmitted diseases, and tuberculosis.
McKing specialists lead a team which includes health promotion and digital technology experts and innovators from partner firms FHI 360 and Forum One, respectively. The team’s primary goal is to make NPIN stakeholders’ communication ecosystem – digital, traditional and mobile – the go-to place for effective and useful information exchange about prevention. Established in 1994, NCHHSTP brings together most of CDC’s HIV prevention activities under a single organizational home with sexually transmitted disease (STD) prevention and tuberculosis (TB) elimination programs. In 2006, CDC/s Division of Viral Hepatitis (DVH) was added, and the Center was renamed the National Center for HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, STD, and TB Prevention.
