LaShondà Steward joined McKing in 2017 as a Vice President based in the Fairfax, VA office. Ms. Steward has worked in the private, public, not-for-profit and development sectors, with over 18 years of experience in strategic marketing and communications. Her extensive background includes branding, corporate communications, partnerships, and multi-channel national and global health and resource mobilization campaigns.
She has helped develop and implement communication programs and strategic partnerships for behavioral, environmental and public health projects. In addition, Ms. Steward directed program fulfillment activities for Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, U.S. Coast Guard, and The Global Fund.
In recent years in a management consulting environment, she was responsible for leading program management across contracts, including development, implementation and execution; partner management; resource planning and management; client services; work planning; budgeting and reporting; capacity building; and training.
Ms. Steward holds an MBA from Johns Hopkins University, as well as a Bachelor in Business Administration from Howard University. She has international in-country experience in Ghana, Nigeria and Sierra Leone, is fluent in English and Krio, and has basic language skills in French.
